2010 WBX Team Tournament a big success!

With 35 players played in 10 teams, WBX Team Tournament 2010 was a great tournament. The final round was exciting, 8 of 10 teams had a chance to won the place 1st to 3rd

Edmonton Fall Sectional 2010 results

IM Edward Porper won the Section A of the 2010 Fall Sectional with 4/5.  Second place prize went to Keith Mackinnon of Saskatchewan who scored 3.5/5.

Section B was won by Vlad Rekhson with 4.5/5.  Section C was dominated by Phil Holmstrom with 5/5!

GM Panchanathan wins the 5th Edmonton International

GM Magesh Panchanathan from India (2533) is the winner of the 5th annual Edmonton International chess championship.  GM Panchanathan did it in style as he scored an amazing 8.5/9!

Second place went to the tournament regular-GM Jesse Kraai from the US (2502) who finished with 7/9.  Third was shared by Georgian GM Mikheil Kekelidze (2487) and Edmontonian IM Edward Porper (2441) with 6.5/9 each. 

Best under 2400 prize went to the talented 11 year old Richard Wang from Edmonton (2190).  He scored an impressive 4.5/9!
