Halloween Open

Come and play at the annual Halloween Open chess tournament, beginning Thursday, October 1st, at 7:00 PM at the club.

Registration from 6:30-6:50 PM.

The ”Halloween Open” will be a 5-round Accelerated Swiss, running from October 1 to October 29 on Thursday nights, with one round per night.   Half-point byes are available if you need to miss a round or two.

Entry fee:  $5 (free for IM, FM)

Capablanca Classic

Annual “Capablanca Classic” starts this Thursday, March 5th, at 7:00 pm at the ECC. Registration from 6:30 – 6:50 pm.

Entry fee:  $5 for CFC members. $21 for non-members.   CFC and ECC membership is available at the door.

Rounds: 4

Round times:  Thursdays, 7 PM

Time Control:  G/110 + 30 seconds/move

Prizes: Honour, glory and rating points.

Edmonton Championship/Reserves

You are invited to the Edmonton Chess Club’s largest annual tournament.
The Edmonton Championship & Reserves will begin this Thursday, January 8th, 7:00 PM at the Edmonton Chess Club.

Many players have pre-registered so far, including four Masters.   Many more will register at the door. The prize fund includes $700 in cash guaranteed, plus a trip to the 2009 Canadian Championship  (pending AGLC approval).   There will be cash prizes in both the Championship and the Reserves.

Final registration at the door from 6:30 – 6:50 PM this Thursday.
