We would like to invite Edmonton’s higher-rated chess players to attend the Edward Porper Seminar, the 2nd lecture of which will be held this Saturday, May 14, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., at the Edmonton Chess Club, 10840 – 124 Street.

This Seminar will analyze topics designed to improve the play of Edmonton’s higher-rated players, the presentations being aimed at players in the range 1800 – 2400.  However, lower-rated players are also certainly welcome to attend.

The 2-hour sessions are mostly independent of each other, so it is not necessary to have attended previous sessions.  (The 1st lecture was held April 16, and probable dates for subsequent lectures will be June 11, July 23, August 6, and possibly August 20)

On May 14, under the general theme of “How to Choose a Move”, the focus will be on ‘The Pieces’, likely including a detailed analysis of one of IM Porper’s own games.

The fee is just $5/session, or $20 for the entire series.
