Edmonton Chess Club

I would like to invite you all to the Edmonton Winter Sectional, December 14-16 (Friday night, Saturday and Sunday), followed by a lecture and simultaneous exhibition by GM Alexander Shabalov on Monday, December 17 (free with your tournament entry).

This is a round robin event, where you play only those with a similar
rating to yourself. The US Champion, GM Alex Shabalov, will be
playing in the top section.

Each 6-player round robin will have at least $125 in prizes, with
higher prizes in the top sections.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED in order to play. You can join by paying
your $30 entry fee either in person (in Edmonton or Calgary) or by
mail, by Thursday December 13 at the latest.

You are invited to the ECC Christmas Open, running on Thursdays in
December. This will be a four round, accelerated Swiss.

There will be a special Christmas draw prize during the tournament.

Registration: 6:30 – 6:50 PM on Thursday December 6th.

Entry fee: Only $3 for CFC members. $13 for non-members.

Round times: 7:00 PM on Thursdays in December.
